Holy Dove

It's "Church Sunday" again here at Newark USA. Today I show two pix of a storefront church in my part of town, Vailsburg, which I find listed on the Internet as "Holy Dove Christian Fellowship Church & Daycare #1 - (973) 371-1453 / 902 18th Ave, Newark, NJ 07106".

I've been stopping at my local McDonald's of late to get a large strawberry milkshake ($3.20), having been mildly traumatized in not being able to find a milkshake in Montreal on my brief vacation at the end of July. Patrons of McDonald's will know that McDonald's shakes are very nearly frozen, more like ice cream than a beverage, and you can get quite cold while 'drinking' one in an air-conditioned room. So I stepped outdoors into the warmth, and looked around from where I had sat down at a circular concrete/aggregate picnic table out front. I saw a church at the corner of Melrose Avenue, the last street in my area of Newark as you head east. Irvington lies just beyond. Since I am running low on pix of churches, I wandered over and took two fotos, planning to look the church up later on the Internet to see what info I could find.

There is this sign on the building's façade, with some information.

An Irvington website lists this church under the category "Interdenominational", with a note, "(Irvington line)" and this additional bit of info: "Bishop Marcus Barnes". Another online directory speaks of "Dove Community Child Care Acad" as part of the church. None of these online directories shows a website for the church itself, and one says it didn't find any. Isn't there some web-savvy member of the congregation of these small churches, even a high-school kid, who could create a website for the church on a free service such as Tripod or Google Sites? I'll offer free use (with a foto credit, of course) of the two fotos above to get things rolling.

The other sign on the church (zoomed in, here, via my graffics program, from the first foto above) confirms the personnel note I found online, and goes further to show a co-pastor.
