Poploaks

As I was trying to line up a foto of a deep-blue building on Fraternity Row, from the other side of MLK, I saw a group of very tall trees with the general shape of a poplar, that I had never noticed before.

When I looked at the foliage, however, it appeared to be oak leaves.

The first oak I saw (and almost walked into, in trying to line up the shot of the blue building — which I couldn't get because there was a truck in the way) seems the fullest specimen, so I wanted to show it alone. Besides, I could include the skyline in the background.

I later tried to find out on the Internet what kind of oak (if an oak) this is, but could not. Anyone?
